Active Pump Services Ltd was founded more than 25 years ago, and we pride ourselves on more than 85 years of combined experience. We specialise in everything related to fresh water and waste transportation, pump installations and maintenance, drainage, and CCTV surveys for domestic and commercial customers.
Active Pump Services acquired Scofi plumbing and heating (March 2024) and can now support our customers with with a range of plumbing, heating, air conditioning, ventilation and renewable energy needs. We are also helping customers achieve Net Zero compliance for their capital and operating assets.
We cover the South East and West of England, including London and the surrounding M25 areas.
However we are also able to deliver our services anywhere in England where our customers need us.

Nicola D'ippolito2024-03-08I was quoted around 300£ for a job "if done at the weekend" but I was told it would be less during the week (because of lower hourly rate). I therefore decided for the job on a Thursday. Job was done and I received a bill of 540£ where indeed the weekday rate was applied but multiplied by TWO because two engineers came. When I was quoted the job I was given the price for the job not the price of an individual engineer nor was there any discussion on how many engineers would be sent or needed. As a side note, the second engineer spent the entire time in their car, doing nothing, occasionally coming out to make some jokes, only to disappear afterwards. For the pleasure of having this second guy on the premises, I would have to pay 195£ plus vat. The receptionist (assistant manager) is completely unprofessional, she also previously failed to check her emails where I had advised (on Thursday) than a second job on Sunday was no longer needed and tried to blame her inefficiency and sloppy work on me for "not calling instead". As if a written request sent with 3 days notice is not as good as a telephone one. I see from other reviews lots of other people have been conned this way, with extras added to the bill that were never discussed prior to the job. Absolutely disgraceful
Paul Robbins2024-01-09Whilst the work done seems really good. After paying the bill, they invoiced me additional previously un agreed charges, stating they "forgot" to add it to the original quote. Update: The company has now recognised their error and canceled the extra invoice, have upgraded my review to 3 stars to reflect the good quality work.

Fixed our large plant with no fuss, gave it a service and provided reassurance about its overall condition. Very knowledgeable and charming engineer. Would definitely recommend them.

Amanda Inglis2022-05-16Initially we thought Active Pumps were prompt and professional however as our job became more complex, so the service declined. Weeks went by with no communication from Geoff, and after several unsatisfactory calls and visits, we have been left with significant costs to repair the damage left by them. Our original reason for calling them out remains unresolved. If your job is complex in any way, I suggest you do not use them. The owner is completely disorganised and an appalling communicator.
Steve B2022-01-18Residential sewer pump failed Monday night and APS came out Tuesday morning. Fast to identify the fault and equally fast to replace pump and faulty electrics. Very helpful and friendly team, no hesitation to recommend.
Paul D2021-09-02I called APS at the weekend when my outdoor sewage pumping station at my residential property in West Sussex failed. They were extremely responsive and helpful on the telephone. Arranging a visit on the next work-day, after an assessment of the situation they promptly ordered and returned within a few days to fit a new pump and electrical control box. They were friendly, efficient and fast workers completing an excellent job including photos. They removed all waste. I definitely recommend APS.
